60.3 Backup and Restore

60.3.1 What is backed up

The backup captures the application data as a ZIP file: profiles, program options, and the other configuration files. Not included are the processed invoice files themselves (they live in your folders) and internal working data such as the processing log.

60.3.2 Automatic and manual backups

  • Automatic: time-based and/or after profile changes, with a retention limit (configuration: see chapter 40.9)
  • Manual: main menu → More → Back up application data… (see chapter 2.2.3) or options page Backup → Back up now

60.3.3 Restore

Main menu → More → Restore application data… (or options page Backup → Restore…):

  1. Choose the backup ZIP
  2. Confirm the safety prompt
  3. The program closes after a successful restore; the restored data applies from the next start

60.3.4 Backup for support

Main menu → More → Create backup for support assistance… creates a special ZIP for support from which sensitive data is removed (among other things, stored passwords are blanked). Before creating it, the program shows what will be cleaned (see chapter 2.2.5).

Tip: Place the backup directory on a drive covered by your regular data backup - then the program configuration is protected even against a machine failure.
