21 Delete File

21.1 Overview

The Delete file task removes the invoice file - e.g. as the last task of a chain, after the invoice has been archived, printed, or saved to the database.

21.2 Settings

Setting Meaning
Deletion type Move to recycle bin (recoverable) or Delete permanently
Delete the parent folder afterwards if it is empty Cleans up empty subfolders

Note: This task is not available in the “Extract XML from PDF file” processing mode, since the temporarily extracted XML file is cleaned up automatically (see chapter 8.7).

Note: In the demo configuration this task is deliberately created deactivated. Combine deleting with a filter (see chapter 30) or preceding archiving tasks so that no unprocessed invoices are lost - when in doubt, Move to recycle bin is the safe choice.
