10 Print Attachments
10.1 Overview ¶
The Print Attachments task prints the attachments of incoming emails directly on a configured printer. Typical use cases include sending invoices to the accounting mailbox with automatic printout or printing delivery notes for the shipping department.
The task is organized into several tabs: General, Printer Settings, Regular Attachments (filter), Embedded Images (optional), and ZIP Archives.
Profile settings, Print Attachments task: printer selection, attachment filter and scaling options
10.2 “General” tab ¶
10.2.1 Printer ¶
Selection of the printer from the list of printers configured under Program Options -> Printers (see chapter 40.14). If the desired printer has not yet been created, the New Printer… button helps create one directly.
Tip: Set up printers under Program Options as logical units (e.g. “Accounting-B/W”, “Shipping-Color”). Multiple profiles can use the same printer definition.
10.2.2 Use default printer settings ¶
If enabled, the default settings stored on the printer are used (duplex, tray, page format). The options on the Printer Settings tab are then ignored.
10.2.3 PDF printer (storage location) ¶
If the selected printer is a PDF printer (that is, not a physical printer but a print-to-PDF conversion), additional fields appear for the storage location of the generated PDF files:
| Field |
Description |
| PDF folder |
Destination directory for the generated PDFs, with placeholder support |
| PDF file name |
Schema for the file name, with placeholder support |
| If file already exists |
Rename, overwrite, skip, append date/time |
10.2.4 Process embedded images ¶
If enabled, inline images (images embedded in the message body) are also printed. Otherwise, only files marked as “real” attachments are considered. When enabled, the Embedded Images tab also appears with its own filter criteria.
10.3 “Printer Settings” tab ¶
These settings only take effect if Use default printer settings on the “General” tab is disabled.
