40.24 Global Placeholders
40.24.1 Overview ¶
In the Global placeholders area you create central values that are reused in multiple profiles - e.g. an archive path, a hotline number or a standard footer. If the value is changed later, all profiles adopt the change automatically.
Unlike the Lookup tables (see Chapter 40.23), the value does not depend on email contents - it is a fixed constant.
40.24.2 Operation ¶

The list is directly editable in the table - a double-click on a cell activates edit mode.
40.24.3 List Columns ¶

| Name |
Unique identifier under which the entry is referenced in tasks |
| Value |
The content that is inserted in place of the placeholder during processing |
40.24.4 Use in Tasks ¶
In input fields for paths, file names or texts you insert the placeholder via the Insert placeholder button. In the menu that opens, all entries created here appear under Global placeholders with their name - you simply choose the right one.
When processing, the program inserts the stored value. If the value is changed here later, the change applies immediately to all profiles that use the placeholder.
40.24.5 Use Case ¶
Central archive path
Name: ArchivePath. Value: D:\IncomingInvoices. All save profiles refer to this path via the placeholder. When changing the drive from D: to E:, a single adjustment at this point is enough.
40.24.6 Tip ¶
- Omit the trailing backslash for paths - the tasks add it themselves
