2 Main Menu
2.1 Overview ¶
The main menu is located in the upper left corner of the main window and is opened via the Menu button. It contains basic program functions, license management and tools for backup and diagnostics.
2.2 Options… ¶
Opens the Program Options window, where you make all program-wide settings - from email accounts and the processing interval to business hours, printers and database connections.
More information: see chapter 40 (Program Options)
2.3 Enter License Key… ¶
Opens the window for entering the license key. After purchase you receive a license key that you can enter here to unlock the full version.
Demo Version
Without a valid license key, the program runs in demo mode with a limited number of profiles. All functions are available so that you can test the program at your leisure.
Licensing
After the license key is entered, the license is validated. The license status is shown in the About… window.
2.4 Help ¶
Opens the program help.
2.5 About… ¶
Shows information about the installed program version and the license status. You will also find the support contact details and links to the manufacturer’s website here.
2.6 More ¶
The More submenu contains additional functions for maintenance, diagnostics and backup.
2.6.1 Generate Error Report… ¶
Creates an error report and places it as a file on the desktop. The report contains the most important program logs and configuration excerpts as well as system and version information that support needs for analysis.
Note: The error report is not anonymized and may contain profile and account details. Check the file for confidential content before sending it.
2.6.2 Clear Error Logs ¶
Removes existing error logs. The processing logs in the log list remain untouched.
Tip: Use this function once you have resolved a problem and want to continue with a clean state.
2.6.3 Open Application Data Folder… ¶
Opens the application data folder in Windows Explorer. The profiles (Profiles.json), the email accounts (EmailAccounts.json), the printer definitions, the database connections and the log databases are stored here.
Warning: Edit these files only if you know what you are doing. Incorrect changes can put the program into an inconsistent state.
2.6.4 Back Up Application Data… ¶
Creates a ZIP file with all relevant configuration data as a backup.
Backup contents:
| Content |
Description |
| Profiles |
All configured profiles with filters and tasks |
| Email accounts |
Configured IMAP, Graph and POP3 accounts (passwords encrypted) |
| Printer definitions |
Preconfigured printers with options |
| Database connections |
Configured SQL Server connections |
| Options |
Program settings |
| Filter lists and mappings |
User-defined filter lists and lookup tables |
Tip: Create manual backups regularly, especially before larger profile changes.
2.6.5 Restore Application Data… ¶
Restores a previously created backup.
Warning: All current settings are replaced by the data from the backup. Create an additional backup of the current state before restoring.
2.6.6 Restore Attachments… ¶
Opens the link editor, which lets you reinsert removed attachments into existing emails, provided the original files are available.
More information: see chapter 90 (Link Editor)
2.6.7 Adjust Offload Path in Link Files… ¶
Provides a way to adjust the path in existing attachment links if the offload storage has been moved. You specify the old and the new path, and the program then updates all affected references.
2.6.8 Clear Log Database… ¶
Removes all processing log entries.
Warning: This action cannot be undone. Create a backup beforehand if you still need the log data.
2.7 Exit ¶
Quits the program completely. A running processing run is completed or cancelled first.
Note: If you close the window via the X symbol in the title bar, the program is minimized to the notification area (system tray) and continues running in the background. To exit the program completely, use Menu -> Exit or the context menu of the tray icon.
2.8 Additional Buttons in the Top Toolbar ¶
Next to the main menu, additional buttons may appear depending on the program state.
2.8.1 Update Available ¶
The Update available button appears only when a newer program version is available. A click opens the download page. The new version can simply be installed over the existing installation without losing any settings.
